Welcome to CampusSublet. CampusSublet ("CampusSublet," "we," "our," or "us") operates a mobile application designed to help college students find and post off-campus housing subleases near their universities. We are committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of our users.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use the CampusSublet mobile application (the "App") or any related services we provide (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2 Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use CampusSublet:

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Name: Your first and last name provided during account registration.
• Email Address: Used to create and authenticate your account and for communications.
• University or School Affiliation: The name of the college or university you attend or are affiliated with.
• Profile Information: Any optional profile details you choose to add, such as a profile photo or bio.
• Listing Information: Details you provide when creating a sublease listing, including property address or general location, rental price, lease dates, property description, and photographs of the property.
• Messages: The content of in-app messages you send to and receive from other users.
• Saved Listings: Information about listings you save or mark as favorites.
• Reports: Information you submit when reporting a user or listing for policy violations or suspected fraudulent activity.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
• IP Address: Your internet protocol (IP) address, which may be used to infer general geographic location.
• Usage Analytics: Information about how you use the App, including pages or features accessed, time spent in the App, search queries, and interaction patterns.

4 User Accounts and Authentication

To access most features of CampusSublet, you must create an account. When you register, you provide us with your name, email address, and university affiliation. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

We use your email address as the primary identifier for your account and for authentication purposes. You should use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately at support@campussublet.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age and, if you are under 18 years of age, that you have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Services. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that we have reason to believe were created in violation of these requirements.

5 User-Generated Content (Listings, Photos, and Data)

CampusSublet allows users to create and publish sublease listings, which may include property addresses or general locations, rental prices, lease dates, descriptions, and photographs. This content is visible to other users of the App and may be searchable within the platform.

CampusSublet does not verify listing accuracy, property ownership, sublease eligibility, or the identity of any listing poster. We expressly disclaim any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or legality of user-submitted listings. Users rely on listings at their own risk.

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the App. By submitting content, you grant CampusSublet a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Services.

6 Messaging and Communications Between Users

CampusSublet provides an in-app messaging feature that allows users to communicate directly with one another regarding listings. The content of these messages is stored on our servers to enable message delivery and to maintain your message history within the App.

While we do not routinely monitor the content of private messages, we reserve the right to review message content in connection with reported violations of our Terms of Service, safety investigations, fraud prevention efforts, or as required by law.

Users should exercise caution when sharing personal information through the in-app messaging system. CampusSublet is not responsible for the conduct of any user or for any information shared between users through the messaging feature.

7 Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored on secure servers maintained by CampusSublet or our third-party infrastructure providers. We implement technical, administrative, and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include, but are not limited to, data encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and regular security assessments.

Despite our efforts, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee that your information is completely secure. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors outside our control may compromise the security of user information at any time.

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

8 Third-Party Services and Infrastructure

CampusSublet may use third-party services and vendors to support the operation of the App. These third parties may have access to certain user information to the extent necessary to perform their functions. Categories of third-party service providers we may use include:

• Cloud Infrastructure Providers: Hosting, database storage, and server infrastructure (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or similar providers).
• Analytics Providers: Services that help us understand how users interact with the App (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar tools).
• Authentication Services: Tools that support secure user login and account verification.
• Customer Support Platforms: Systems used to manage user inquiries and support tickets.

CampusSublet is distributed through the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Apple and Google may collect information in connection with your download and use of the App pursuant to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review Apple's and Google's privacy policies separately.

We do not sell your personal information to third-party advertisers. We do not permit third-party advertisers to collect your personal information through the App.

9 Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• With Other Users: Certain information, such as your display name, university affiliation, profile photo, and listing details, is visible to other users of the App as part of the platform's functionality.
• With Service Providers: We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, subject to confidentiality obligations.
• For Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of CampusSublet, our users, or the public.
• In Connection with Business Transfers: If CampusSublet is acquired by or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any such change in ownership or control of personal information.
• With Your Consent: We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

10 How to Access, Update, or Delete Your Data

You have certain rights regarding the personal information we hold about you. Subject to applicable law, these include:

• Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: You may update or correct inaccurate information directly through the App's account settings or by contacting us.

Please note that deleting your account will remove your profile, saved listings, and message history from active display. However, messages you have sent to other users may remain visible to those users.

11 Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes.

Specifically, we may retain certain information after account deletion for the following purposes: complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, enforcing our agreements, preventing fraud, and maintaining security. Usage analytics data may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form indefinitely.

Listing information and messages associated with a deleted account will be removed from the App but may remain in backup systems for a limited period before being fully purged.

12 Children's Privacy (Users Under 13)

CampusSublet is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13 years of age, you may not create an account or use the Services.

If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 years of age, we will take prompt steps to delete that information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@campussublet.com.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the Services only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By permitting a minor to use the Services, a parent or guardian agrees to this Privacy Policy on behalf of the minor.

13 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other business reasons. When we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document and, where required by applicable law, by providing notice through the App or via email.
